Wokha, February 21 (MExN): Mhathung Yanthan, Advisor, Department of Agriculture along with MLA Mhonbemo Humtsoe and others visited the ongoing NH-61 (2) road construction site on February 21. 

During the visit, a DIPR report stated that the Advisor thanked the Lotha Hoho and all the Civil Societies Organisations (CSOs) for taking the initiatives to complete the NH project as specified in the DPR. He also assured the construction company that the District Administration and the CSOs will extend support to complete the project on time.

The Advisor and MLA were accompanied by the District Administration, DPDB members, Lotha Hoho, Lotha Eloe Hoho, representatives of Joint Action Committee (JAC), Lotha Students’ Union and officials from National Highway.

DPDB meet discusses registration of societies, opening of new school 
Earlier, Wokha District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) monthly meeting was held at Deputy Commissioner, conference hall, Wokha. The meeting was chaired by Chairman DPDB Wokha & Advisor Mhathung Yanthan. MLA 38 A/C Mhonbemo Humtsoe also attended the meeting.

The house discussed agendas including the registration of Ekhumrhong Rehab Centre at Yikhum village, opening of new Don Bosco School at Akuk village, activities of Kaviyasri Project and District industries Centre and review of aspirational villages.

Zanbemo Kithan, Pastor, Yikhum village highlighted on activities of Ekhumrhong Rehab Centre at Yikhum village for registration of the same. He stated that the rehab centre is purely church funded project to enable the substance abuse persons fully recover by engaging them on various activities on skill development and teaching them through Christian faith.

Mhathung Yanthan thanked the Yikhum Baptist Church for taking the initiatives in providing yeoman service which is not only beneficial for the particular village but for the entire district, the DIPR report stated. 

In regard to the opening of new Don Bosco School at Akuk village, the Chairman requested the SDEO to submit the verification report in the next DPDB meeting for approval.

S Mhayani Shitiri, District Executive Officer (CBBD) highlighted on farmer producer organisation and the advantages of FPOS. She stated that the department has established FPOS in all the seven existing blocks in the district, with its main objectives is to benefit the common farmers to boost the economy status of the district.

National Bank for Agricultural & Rural Development (NABARD), District Development Manager, Poji highlighted the developmental activities and beneficial schemes available under NABARD for Wokha district. District Industrial Centre, District Resources Person Thungchano Jungio, highlighted on the activities under Pradhan Mantri Formalization of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) schemes.

For better implementation of all the government schemes and projects, the Advisor urged the officials to share information with other line departments to benefit the farmers and also to boost the economy of the district and the State.
