Advisor Noke Konyak assures help to Social Welfare department

Kohima, April 26 (MExN): A felicitation programme was held for Noke Konyak, Advisor to the Department of Social Welfare, Home Guard and Civil Defence on April 25 at the Directorate of Social Welfare, Kohima.  

The programme was chaired by Tulula Pongen, Additional Director, Social Welfare, while short speeches were given by OT Chingmak Chang, Commissioner & Secretary, Social Welfare, T. Merangtsungba Aier, Director, SW, and Banuo Vinito, Chairperson, NSSWB.  

Merangtsungba shared the activities of the department and also highlighted the grievances and problems faced by the department, according to a press release. He sought the Advisor’s guidance and assistance while assuring him of full co-operation and co-ordination from the department.  

OT Chingmak spoke on the acute shortage of manpower in the department, saying it is causing difficulty in implementing the programmes. He further urged the staffs to work with full sincerity for the welfare of the public.  

Meanwhile, the Advisor Noke Konyak emphasized that cooperation among the staffs is a vital necessity for a department to be successful. He assured to bridge the gap of shortfalls in the department and gave full assurance to look into it, the release said. He also deliberated on the verification of genuine and eligible beneficiaries under various welfare schemes and to remove all bogus beneficiaries.  

Noke further stressed that the field officers of the department should perform their duties sincerely and deliver all needed services to the community. He assured the department of his support and commitment in achieving new heights.b
