Dedication and consistency was the formula to make it to the top list of the HSLC 2024, Nagaland, according to Mhachilo Yanthan (rank 1) and Eliyani R Ovung (rank 8).
“I get asked this question a lot. I did not follow any strict study regime. Consistency was my mantra,” said Yanthan at a felicitation programme for the two toppers hosted by the MLA and Advisor for Agriculture, Mhathung Yanthan in Dimapur on May 8. A product of Christian Higher Secondary School, Dimapur, she said that she made a habit of studying daily, be it a holiday or an occasion.
Ovung termed her top 8 ranking as the culmination of dedication and hardwork in addition to divine providence and parental support. She said that her parents’ unwavering love and support fueled her determination to strive for excellence, while adding that she remains indebted to her teachers as well. “Never underestimate your potential. With hardwork and determination, anything is possible,” said Ovung, who passed out from Little Star Higher Secondary School, Dimapur.
Advisor Yanthan, who said that the two achievers were from the 39 Sanis Assembly seat which he represents, conveyed his appreciation to the parents and the community. While lauding the toppers, he reminded that with achievement and success come responsibility, which they should be aware of as they continue their education journey. He encouraged them maintain focus and strive to better their achievements.
