Kohima, September 20 (MExN): The State of Nagaland has been selected by the Athletic Federation of India (AFI) for conducting State Technical Official (STO) examination for the North-East states from September 22-24, along with six different states across India.
The examination will be held at the seminar room of the Nagaland Olympic Association (NOA) office in Kohima, informed a press release from the Nagaland Athletics Association (NAA).
This is the first STO examination being conducted in Nagaland and the second technical official course by AFI in the State.
As per the NAA, the examination for Nagaland will be conducted by Sambhudas Bandyopadhyay,a decorated Technical officials from AFI with Level-1 qualifcation. He ia also also a member of World Athletics Referee Panel Silver Level.
Tthe examination will be held for three days and includes lectures, seminars, practical and physical efficiency test and assessment.
The Association further informed that a total of 31 qualified District Technical Officials from NE, including 23 from Nagaland, has applied for the STO course.
All preparations have been made by NAA in close coordination with the NOA to ensure that the examination is conducted in a successful manner, it added.
Meanwhile, the NAA has conveyed its appreciation to the AFI for continuing to give special focus to the NE and Nagaland and termed the inclusion of the State as one of the nation-wide centres for STO examination as “an important landmark.”
The NAA also extended its welcome to all the candidates from other states and wished them all success.
