AFRAU Pangti issues ultimatum to Chief Minister

Pangti, September 21 (MExN): The Amur Falcon Roosting Area Union (AFRAU) Pangti has issued an ultimatum to the Chief Minister of Nagaland regarding the ongoing project on Amur Falcon under Swadesh Darshan scheme 2015-16 under Wokha district.

The ultimatum appended by AFRAU Pangti President, Zanthungo Shitiri and Secretary, Nribemo Merry lamented that despite repeated pleas, the Government has failed to give any positive response to their demands till date. The union/landowners have therefore urged the CM to meet their demands on or before September 30.

The ultimatum stated that the AFRAU President on behalf of the union had submitted a representation to Parliamentary Secretary, Tourism, Nagaland dated July 28, 2016 on the issue and reminder

letter to Chief Minister on August 30, 2016, followed by open letter on September 7, which was published in a local daily.   The union warned that failing to give them positive reply within the stipulated time, “the union will give up our selfless service in protecting the international species Amur Falcons (The pride of Nagaland) which we have been doing for the past three years. The government shall be solely held responsible in case of any unwanted eventuality that may arise.”

The resolution to issue the ultimatum was made during the general meeting of AFRAU Pangti on September 18 in Pangti village, where the ongoing project pertaining to Amur Falcon under Swadesh Darshan scheme 2015-16 was thoroughly discussed.
