
PHEK, MAY 11 (MExN): In view of the outbreak of African Swine Fever (ASF) in Phek district, the Phek District Administration and the Phek Town Council, in separate orders, declared the Old Town Khel under Phek Village and the surrounding area covering up to 1 km radius as Infected Zone.
Further, 10 km radius from the Infected Zone has been declared as Surveillance Zone, under which Chosaba Village, Phek Basa, Phek Town, Lozaphuhu and Losami falls.
In this connection, Deputy Commissioner, John Tsulise Sangtam and Administrator, Phek Town Council, Ruopfukuotuo Noudi has issued restriction on slaughter of pigs, ban on import and export of pigs and piglets and ban on transport of pigs and pork in the infected and surveillance zone with immediate effect. It further directed that any observance of sickness/dead of pigs should be immediately reported to the Task Force Team, PTC at the Veterinary Hospital, Phek for necessary action.
