AG warns against bribery, middlemen

Dimapur, June 9 (MExN): The office of the Accountant General of Nagaland has cautioned all in concern against attempting to bribe any staffer and personnel of the Accountant General’s establishment. No bribe should be offered to any staff of the office for any entitlement of work such as pension, GPF, pay slips, NDC (loans) etc, a press release from the AG’s office stated today.   
“If any staff of this office asks for bribe or if you have any information on corruption in this office or if you are a victim of bribery, the same may be immediately be brought to the notice of the authority…,” the AG’s office stated. In addition, the Accountant General’s office took exception that some individuals who are in no way associated with the actual applicant come to this office to pursue cases on the applicant’s behalf. “It is hereby informed that from now onwards such unauthorized pursuance by middlemen will not at all be entertained and the case will be pursued only by the official/person,” the press release stated.
For pension and PF works, only the persons in concern or the nodal officer or any government servant with due authority letter from the person concerned or family member with full identity proof are to pursue the case.
For works associated with pay slips and loans, only the official in concern, the nodal officer or authorized government servant from the same department with full identity proof are to purse the matter, the AG’s establishment stated.    
In addition, in connection with the stated matter if any person wants to approach or contact the Deputy Accountant General in person, one may visit the office every Wednesday between 11 am and 1pm.
