Maligaon, December 1 (MExN): The Northeast Frontier Railway has introduced a new stoppage for Train No. 15663/15664 Agartala–Silchar–Agartala Express at Pencharthal Railway Station in Tripura, aimed at strengthening regional connectivity and improving travel convenience for passengers.
The stoppage was formally inaugurated at Pencharthal Railway Station on December 1 in the presence of Tripura Minister for Industries & Commerce Santana Chakma and senior railway officials.
As per the schedule, Train No. 15663 (Agartala–Silchar) will halt at Pencharthal with arrival at 14:01 hours and departure at 14:03 hours. In the return direction, Train No. 15664 (Silchar–Agartala) will arrive at 13:13 hours and depart at 13:15 hours.
According to NFR, the addition of the Pencharthal halt is expected to improve access to rail services for passengers in North Tripura district and nearby areas by offering smoother and more convenient travel options to key destinations.
NFR stated that with the introduction of the new stoppage, it continues to focus on enhancing passenger amenities, expanding regional connectivity, and contributing to overall development across the Northeast through reliable and passenger-friendly transportation.
