
Chümoukedima, October 13 (MExN): The fourth Biennial Youth Conference of the Association of the Gorkha Baptist Churches Nagaland (AGBCN) concluded on October 13 at the WSBAK Millennium Hall in Daniel Village, Doyapur, Chümoukedima District.
The three-day event, held from October 11-13, attracted over 500 delegates and officials from 37 Gorkha Baptist Churches and Fellowships across Nagaland, uniting under the theme “Growing Stronger and Reaching Higher.”
Keynote addresses were delivered by K. Nifato Chishi, Secretary of the Department of Youth Ministry for WSBAK, and Rev. Mathias Subba from the Himalayan Evangelical Fellowship in Kalimpong, Darjeeling. Both speakers emphasized the conference's theme, providing inspiration and guidance through their reflections on scripture.
Youth Secretary of AGBCN, Shishir Lama, urged attendees to maintain their commitment to faith and community as they look forward to the next biennial youth conference in 2026.
In the Battle of the Bands, the Nepali Baptist Church Tuensang emerged as champions, with GBC Mon and NBC Padumpukhuri taking second and third places, respectively. NBC Chümoukedima Town won the Nepali Cultural Dance competition, followed by NBC Medziphema in second place and NBC Walford in third. In the Secretary Report competition, NBC Kohima secured the championship, with NBC Walford and NBC Chümoukedima Town following in second and third places. GBC Mon was recognized as the Best Disciplined Church.
Overall, the Nepali Baptist Church Chümoukedima Town claimed the title of Overall Champion for 2024.
