Agitation over reservation policy on May 29

DIMAPUR, MAY 26 (MExN): The 5 Tribes Committee on Review of Reservation Policy has announced their first phase of agitation from May 29 in all district headquarters over the state government’s failure to respond to its memorandum and 30 days ultimatum. 

The committee, which includes the Ao, Angami, Sema, Lotha and Rengma communities, said that there will be a protest march to the DC offices in the respective districts and an ultimatum eeminder to the Government of Nagaland will be submitted through the Deputy Commissioner. 

“All the public, especially youths and students from the five tribes are requested to participate in this movement against 48 Years of indefinite Reservation Policy in which various review committees has never addressed the concerns of non backward tribes,” a press release from the committee stated.
