Kohima, July 14 (DIPR): Agri and Allied departments jointly organized a district level training at DAO Conference Hall, Kohima on July 14. The training programme was chaired by Denis Angami, DSCO, Kohima.
During the programme, welcome address was delivered by Dr. Vivotuo Miachieo, Chief Veterinary Officer, Kohima. Mishanto Ghap, District Horticulture Officer, Kohima in his keynote address encouraged the participants to learn something new and make it as a practice in their daily lives. He further elaborated on the importance of ATMA intervention with the agri and allied departments.
The first technical session was on ‘Poultry Farming’ where the resource person Dr. Elizabeth Yhome, Veterinary Surgeon from Veterinary Hospital Kohima gave an in depth explanation on topics like purpose of poultry farming, feeding practices, proper location of site for poultry farming, choosing crossbred chicken for sustainable livelihood, housing system. She elaborated on the biosecurity measures in poultry rearing along with its economic viability. She further encouraged the participants to go for quality chick for healthy and profitable production.
In the second technical session, Along Tzudir, AHO, Kohima demonstrated on mushroom cultivation. The resource person highlighted the cultivation procedures along with its economic aspects. This was followed by a demonstration and discussion hour.
Vote of thanks was given by Vizonyu Liezie, DAO & PD ATMA Kohima where he also encouraged the participants to practice what they have learnt.
