
Dimapur, January 7 (MExN): Farm machinery shed cum workshop of SDO Store, Dimapur was inaugurated on January 6 by Helie Rupreo, Director of Agriculture, Nagaland at the department's office premises here. Rupreo dedicated the building to the farming community.
In his address, he laid out the department’s vision of ‘Food for All by 2030’. Durable machineries, he said, will be procured by the department, double cropping will be stressed upon and importance of farm mechanisation in agriculture sector will be emphasised.
Persuading the staffs and mechanics to be sincere and innovative, he also said the members of Agriculture department will be sensitised on the service code of conduct while inviting for constructive ideas and criticism for development of the department.
Joint Director of Agriculture L. Hangshing emphasised on farm mechanisation in his address. He informed that the farm machinery shed cum workshop was constructed under Sub Mission on Agricultural Mechanisation (SMAM). Hangshing also updated the department that for availing farm machineries that include power tiller, pump sets etc, an individual availing the machineries on subsidised rate has to submit photo copies of Aadhaar card, bank account passbook (front page and current updated page).
Olem Jamir, Deputy Director Agriculture Central Store, Dimapur updated the department on construction report. Jamir also submitted a proposal to the department for renovation and repairing of departmental stores.
The programme was chaired by L. Hangshing, Joint Director of Agriculture and vote of thanks was rendered by S.K. Khemprai, Deputy Director.
