
Peren, July 11 (MExN): District Agriculture Officer’s (DAO) office, Peren organised a one day sensitization cum training on Mission Organic Value Chain Development (MOVCD) on July 11 at DAO office conference hall, New HQ Peren.
Delivering the keynote address, District Agriculture Officer, Atoi Sema briefed on the Mission Organic Value Chain Development scheme for North Eastern Region. He said the scheme aims to develop certified organic production in a value chain mode to link growers with consumers and to support the development of entire value chain starting from inputs, seeds, certification to the creation of facilities for collection, aggregation, processing marketing and brand building initiative. He also mentioned that the scheme will be implemented in a mission mode. At the state level, the mission will be implemented by the State Level Executive Committee (SLEC) and executed through a designated state lead agency in the form of State Organic Commodity Board or Organic Mission.
SDAO Tening, Dr. Zeliegai Ndang explained on the implementation of MOVCD and PKVY. Around 20 farmers from different villages, including VCC and members, attended the training.
