Mokokchung, May 23 (DIPR): For enhancing the yielded and profitability of Horticulture and Agriculture production in Nagaland a one day seminar on Agro- Textiles was held at SARS, Yisemyong on May 20 which was jointly organized by the Ministry of Textiles (GoI), Centre of Excellence, SASMIRA, Mumbai and the department of Horticulture, Government of Nagaland.
Resource person Ravi Singh spoke on the usage of Agro- Textiles while Meyasashi spoke on Nursery Raising of Horticulture Crops under poly house and net house. Renbemo (SMS) KVK, Yisemyong imparted technical knowledge of protected cultivation on horticulture crops and Ayub Shaikh, Scientist, SASMIRA Mumbai highlighted the schemes of Agro- Textiles in North Eastern Region. Altogether 80 farmers attended the seminar.
The seminar was chaired by Meyasashi, District Horticulture Officer, Mokokchung while the key note address and vote of thanks were given by Ravi Singh, Scientist, SASMIRA Mumbai and Talimeren, Assistant Horticulture Officer, Mokokchung respectively.
