DIMAPUR, FEBRUARY 19 (MExN): In an indication of the abundant flow of liquor to the state, particularly during the election, Nagaland Police, Excise and other monitoring authorities have seized a whopping 3,67,961 bottles of assorted liquor as of February 17, 2018.
According to the daily seizure report in connection to the general election to the legislative assembly of Nagaland, a total of 3, 41,328 bottles of IMFL, 2, 6597 bottles of beer and 36 local beers have been seized till February 17. This was informed in a press release issued by the Chief Electoral Officer, Nagaland.
Besides, the authorities have also seized 20,515 assorted tablets and capsules of banned drugs, 220 kgs of ganja, 642 grams and 9 rolls of opium, 58 grams of brown sugar and 5 grams heroine.
The police department has also seized a total of Rs 55, 44,930 in cash so far while there was none from the Income Tax department.
