AHoDs, HoDs and nodal officers discusses on roles of SVEEP cell

Kohima, October 7 (DIPR): The Election department in collaboration with the AHoDs, HoDs and nodal officers of different departments had an elaborate discussion on the roles of SVEEP cell on October 6 at Zonal Council hall. Delivering the key note address, the CEO, Sanjay Kumar IAS said that the main objective of having SVEEP cell in every department was to collaborate all departments in the state since the election process involves not only the election department but also all the departments’ employees working under the state government.  

He urged all the stakeholders to be a responsible citizen in keeping the electoral rolls corrected, updated thereby ensuring free and fair election as per the directives of the election commission.  

He also said that it was the duties and responsibilities of the government employees particularly the AHoDs, HoDs and the Nodal officers to take care of the problems and grievances faced by the downtrodden and illiterate persons as far as election matters are concerned. Stressing on the importance of election pledge, he asked the concerned officers to make sure that no double entries or multiple registration has been done in the electoral rolls. At the same time, he also asked the concerned officers to keep the electoral rolls updated in the form of addition or deletion. Also urging them to sensitize the general public on booth awareness participation and disseminate valuable information to the public at the right time.  

Deputy Chief Electoral Officer, Vekho Vero briefed the importance of SVEEP cell with a power point presentation while Joint CEO, Moa Aier chaired the programme.
