Dimapur, September 1 (MExN): An appeal for help was received here from Hyderabad today for a man said to be without a family, a research scholar informed to have been diagnosed with Leukemia (or blood cancer). An email from Wabang Longchar, a research scholar of History in the University of Hyderabad said that another research scholar Haireisim Newme was diagnosed with Leukemia early this morning. Newme is a scholar pursuing research in the Department of Comparative and Applied Linguistics, the email said. “He is an orphan, and the only guardian he had (an uncle), passed away a year ago. In short, there is no one to look after him,” the letter from Wabang Longchar said.
According to the email, Newme was taken into the Intensive Care Unit at Apollo Hospital, Jubilee Hills in Hyderabad. To keep him in the ICU, the hospital charges Rs. 25,000 per day and according to doctors he might be treated in the ICU for at least ten days.
“We seek your financial help, in whatever amount possible. Please pass on this message to friends whom you know might extend their help to save Haireisim’s life,” the letter appealed. Anyone wishing to help may contact Wabang Longchar at wabanglcr@gmail.com or phone +919866029958. Informing of the latest on Newme, Longchar said he has been shifted to the National Institute of Medical Sciences this afternoon. “His leukemia has reached stage-4. Part of his brain is damaged. Please pray for him and for the pastor in-charge, Naga Christian Fellowship of Hyderabad, as he has to make decisions on Hairie’s behalf,” the citizen appealed.
