Dimapur, March 19 (MExN): The ANMA Integrated Development Association (AIDA) Don Bosco Job Placement Network, Dimapur, in collaboration with the Ministry of Labour and Employment: ST/SC Kohima, National Career Service Centre for Differently Abled, Dimapur, Employment Exchange Dimapur, and Model Career Centre Dimapur, organised a job fair at the AIDA conference hall, AIDA – Don Bosco.
The job fair was formally inaugurated by special guest, RS Süpuni Pou, Sub-Regional Employment Officer, Kohima– Government of Nagaland. In his speech, Pou emphasised the importance of building strong employer-employee relationships and encouraged participants to present their best during interviews.
Gideon L Sumi, District Employment Exchange Officer (DEO), Dimapur informed the participants that over 72,000 unemployed youth, who have completed Class 10 and above, are currently registered with the employment exchange. In Dimapur and Chumukedima districts alone, over 27,000 unemployed youth are seeking job opportunities. He also shared stories of individuals who achieved career growth by starting with small steps.
Other guests present were Abdu Saleem TK, Rehabilitation Officer, Ministry of Labour and Employment, DGE NCSC for Different Abled, Government of India and Yapangsangla, Young Professional (YP) Dimapur District, Employment Exchange Department.
Participating companies engaged directly with job seekers, offering insights about their hiring processes and available opportunities.
The fair attracted over 60 participants, with more than 100 job vacancies available. Four companies attended the fair in person, while one participated online, a press release received here stated.
