Kohima, June 4 (MExN): A week-long All India Football Federation (AIFF) ‘D’ License Course concluded on June 3 at Thenyizu village under Phek district.

Altogether, 22 participants including one lady from Dimapur, Peren, Kohima, Tuensang and Phek districts took part in the instructor course, which was conducted by N. William Koso, AIFF D Coach Educator and AFC A license coach.

During the weeklong camp, the coaches underwent two practical exams and one theory exam as part of their course assessments.

The results of the course will be announced by AIFF at a later date.

During valedictory programme, Koso hoped that the coaches will share and impart their knowledge to the younger generation whatever they have learnt during the camp.

He said a good sportsperson becomes role model in the society, and added that the coaches will not only nurture the young talent but also develop the society.

He appreciated Chokri Area Games & Sports Association (CAGSA) and Thenyizu village for the initiative adding that it was a good sign that the village is trying to promote sports at the grassroot level.

Koso hoped that more talents can be nurtured at the village level with the coaching camp for the coaches.

CAGSA president Sekho Dawhuo said that the course key element was to train the coaches so that they can impart their knowledge about football at grassroot level in the remotest areas.

He appreciated Koso for sharing his vast experience from Coach Education and Coaching Career.

Changsang, 35 year old and the oldest coach from Tuensang speaking on behalf of the trainee said that he had learnt a lot from the weeklong camp and hope to share his knowledge to the younger generation.

The camp was organised by CAGSA under the guidance of Football Association Phek District (FAPD).
