GUWAHATI, NOVEMBER 6 (MExN): The Northeast Consultation on the Rights of the Indigenous Peoples held on November 6 and 7 at Guwahati has lauded the breakthrough made in the Indo-Naga peace talks. A press release from the Asia Indigenous Peoples Pact (AIPP) said that the indigenous peoples of NE India urge the Government of India to honour the peace process and agreement made and come to a peaceful understanding at the earliest. “Every Indigenous group has their own unique history and struggle, whose voices need to be heard and respectfully addressed, including the ongoing peace process with other Indigenous groups of Northeast,” it added.
