Dimapur, May 19 (MExN): The Akhoya Village Council has expressed its deep displeasure to the M/S. Maytas & Gayatri (J.V) Company for “mindless and abrupt abandonment of the road construction work between Changtongya and Longleng despite our cooperation and service rendered towards the success of the project.” As a result, Akhoya Village Council chairman S Kilang Longkumer and its secretary I Chuba Jamir in a press statement stated that, the road in question becomes dusty during winter and muddy in summer and the public transports ply with great risk of vehicular accidents day and night. In light of this, the village council has demanded that the company resume its work without any further delay and fulfill all the commitments made to the public in letter and in spirit. Till such time that the company resumes its work in full swing, the village council affirmed that it shall confiscate all the machineries belonging to the company left behind under the village jurisdictions. This action shall be enforced with immediate effect, it added.
