Akito FC registered a resounding 4-0 victory over Kachari Sports Club in their league match of the DDFL-cum-Late Hejeto Ayemi Trophy at the DDSC Stadium in Dimapur on September 16.
Vika opened the scoring for Akito FC in the 13th minute before Lokivi doubled the lead in the 18th minute.
Kachari Sports Club had an opportunity to reduce the deficit in the 23rd minute but Bhavishya Sonnowal missed a penalty.
Continuing their momentum in the second half, Lokivi scored twice more in the 25th and 34th minutes to complete his hat-trick and seal the 4-0 victory.
Lokivi was named the Man of the Match. Nungsangchiba of Akito FC and Sumit Mech of Kachari Sports Club received yellow cards during the match.
Don Bosco stage comeback
Don Bosco Sports Academy came from behind to defeat East Dimapur Sumi Sports Association 2-1 in their league match of the DDFL-cum-Late Hejeto Ayemi Trophy at the DDSC Stadium here.
East Dimapur took the lead in the ninth minute through Tokupu Assumi, but Don Bosco drew level before half-time when Aching scored in the 30th minute.
Don Bosco completed the comeback in the second half when substitute Bumang C scored in the 27th minute.
Despite enjoying 70 per cent possession and registering 12 shots, East Dimapur were unable to recover.
Benrithung Murry of Don Bosco Sports Academy was named the Man of the Match.
Atoito Yepthomi of East Dimapur, along with Wangzam and Aching of Don Bosco, received yellow cards during the match.
Zeliangrong YC (B) and Indisen FC play out a 1-1 draw
Zeliangrong Village Youth Club (B) and Indisen FC played out a 1-1 draw in their league fixture of the DDFL-cum-Late Hejeto Ayemi Trophy at the DDSC Stadium here.
Zeliangrong made a bright start when Temsemeren Imsong converted a penalty in the second minute to put his side ahead.
Despite Indisen FC dominating the match statistics with 13 shots and an equal 50 per cent share of possession, Zeliangrong's disciplined defence kept them at bay in the first half.
Indisen's sustained pressure finally paid off in the second half when Limasanen Tzudir scored in the 64th minute to level the score.
Both teams pushed for a late winner in the closing stages, but neither could break the deadlock.
Daithuilung Gangmei of Zeliangrong Village Youth Club was named the Man of the Match.
Maong Imsong of Indisen FC, along with Shoheto A Shohe and Ivito Assumi of Zeliangrong, received yellow cards during the match.
