AKM asks School Edu Dept to repair landslide hit Noklangsangba GHS

DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 4 (MExN): The Ao Students' Conference (AKM) has written to the Principal Director, School Education to repair the damages caused by a landslide at Noklangsangba Government High School (GHS), Lirmen on August 27.

The AKM informed that on August 27, the school faced a devastating landslide, which resulted in severe damage to the school building, housing classes for students in grades 9 and 10. The safety and well-being of our students are of paramount concern, and this natural disaster has disrupted regular classes, leaving our young learners in a precarious situation, it said.

In response to this emergency, the school administration has temporarily relocated classes to the assembly hall. “While this is a commendable effort to ensure continuity in education, it is far from an ideal learning environment. The assembly hall lacks the necessary infrastructure and facilities required for effective teaching and learning, further jeopardizing the academic progress of our students,” the AKM pointed out.

It asked the Principal Director, School Education to assess the extent of damage to the school building promptly; expedite necessary repairs or reconstruction to ensure a safe and conducive learning environment for students; provide interim solutions to mitigate the academic disruptions faced by students; and allocate resources and support to facilitate the smooth continuation of classes.

“Noklangsangba Government High School Lirmen has a rich legacy of nurturing talents and producing responsible citizens, and we hope that this legacy continues without interruption,” it further stated.
