AKM clears stance on ongoing border issue

Mokokchung, November 23 (MExN): The Ao Students’ Conference (AKM) on Monday asserted that it would ‘not compromise even an inch of its land’ and continue to strive towards restoring all the areas under its jurisdiction.

Stating this in a letter to the Mokokchung Deputy Commissioner, the AKM cleared its stance on the ongoing tension at the Assam-Nagaland border under Mokokchung district.

While acknowledging the DC’s effort to resolve the ongoing imbroglio, it also expressed solidarity with the people of Tsurangkong and said that the sanctioned building/structure to be constructed at Aosenden village should be completed without further delay

“The temporary Assam Police post at Aosenden village should be immediately evacuated/remove to avoid further tension,” it added.

While assuring our fullest support and co-operation in resolving the border tension through people to people dialogue, we urge you to immediately find an amicable solution, the AKM’s letter stated.
