AKM informs proxy teachers under DEO Mokokchung to cease activities

Mokokchung, July 12 (MExN): The Ao Students' Conference (AKM), on July 12, has directed all the proxy teachers under the District Education Office (DEO) in the Mokokchung district, to “immediately cease their activities.”

The AKM recognises the significance of continuous professional development and the practice of keeping proxies presents substantial obstacles to the scholarly progression and comprehensive learning experience of students, stated a press release from the apex Ao students’ body.

In this connection, it also appealed the School Management Committee (SMC) and School Management and Development Committee (SMDC) to exercise utmost vigilance regarding the issue.

“We urge them to refrain from engaging any proxy teachers within their jurisdiction, as this practice not only impedes scholarly advancement but also undermines the effectiveness of educational programs, hindering overall growth,” stated the AKM in release issued by its President Lanutoshi Aier and Education Secretary Lanulemba Longchar .

Further, the AKM directed that no employees must depart from their designated posting place without obtaining prior permission for leave from the appropriate and authorised authority.

Regrettably, despite government directives, there has been a rampant presence of proxy teachers in many government schools, it said.

Accordingly, the AMK informed all government school teachers in-charge to maintain diligent records of teachers' attendance to ensure the smooth functioning of their respective institutions.

It further notified all government teachers and staff who are posted in Mokokchung district but not residing in the station to promptly return to their designated posting places.

“Failure to comply with this appeal by the concerned school officials will result in necessary actions being initiated against them,” it added.
