Dimapur, October 12 (MExN): The Ao Students' Conference (AKM) has conveyed support and appreciation to the Konyak Students' Union (KSU) and the Konyak civil society in general for their endeavor to check, detect, and to deport illegal migrants from Mon district. Illegal immigrants as well as locals are also reminded with a warning.
“The issue of influx of illegal migrants into Nagaland and the consequent pollution of the very social fabric of the Naga society as a result of this menace is indeed very alarming and should be fought against by all Nagas as an evil that is determined to destroy our very existence as a distinct race” the AKM stated in a message from its president Aodangnok and vice-president L Imti Jamir.
The AKM mentioned that the KSU's endeavor has served as an impetus to the ongoing ‘Survival 2007’ campaign. In this light, the AKM reiterated that the previous declarations and notifications made by the AKM in this regard are still in effect and that every individual ILP holder entering Mokokchung district after the wake of Survival 2007 are being monitored.
The Ao students also served a stern warning to all illegal immigrants and locals: “Every illegal migrant shall be detected and banished from the face of Mokokchung. The AKM also warn the locals who are harboring suspected illegal migrants, if any, that we will not be responsible for any damage done to their properties or houses where they are sheltered, or any other consequences for that matter.”
