MOKOKCHUNG, MARCH 18 (MExN): The Ao Students’ Conference (AKM) has temporarily suspended the ongoing agitation after the Department of Health & Family Welfare addressed their concerns regarding the shortage of doctors at Imkongliba Memorial District Hospital (IMDH) in Mokokchung.
A press statement issued by the AKM said the department has issued an order to facilitate the transfer and posting of medical officers to ensure immediate availability of healthcare personnel at IMDH.
Following the department's response, the AKM decided to halt its protest, acknowledging the steps taken by the department to resolve the issue. However, the AKM asked the department to fulfill its commitments both in letter and in practice while stating that it would continue to monitor the implementation of these measures closely.
In addition, the AKM urged the Government of Nagaland to conduct the Nagaland Public Service Commission (NPSC) examinations without delay to address the ongoing shortage of doctors and other healthcare personnel. The AKM has made it clear that it will continue to advocate for the timely conduct of the exams and will take further action if necessary.
