Kohima, October 3 (MExN): The Ao Kaketshir Telongjem Kohima (AKTK) held its annual Kaketshir Anogo Den Lokti Senden 2025 under the theme “Omen-Lepa Reprangshiang, Arangshishiang aser Aramesoang (Reflect, Realign and Arise)” at Molu Ki, Merhültetsa, Kohima on October 2.
Dr BM Sunep Imchen, Director of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services, Nagaland, graced the programme as the main speaker, stated a DIPR report. In his address, he congratulated the meritorious students while reminding them that academic excellence alone is not sufficient if it does not translate into becoming productive citizens. “We need to change our mindset and thinking, sharpen ourselves to be more effective, and rise with purpose,” he said.
He urged the youth to reflect and retrospect on their lives, stressing that identity and purpose are central to growth. “Ask yourself who you are, and why you are here. Whatever you become, ensure that you are a productive person,” he added.
Dr Imchen also reflected on the history of education among the Nagas and emphasized the importance of contributing to society beyond seeking services, while noting the challenges of health, identity crisis, and societal mindset.
Earlier, the welcome address was delivered by Sentilong Longchar, while words of encouragement were shared by T Bendangsenla of Watsü Telen Kohima. She exhorted the students to step out of their comfort zones, face challenges, and look for opportunities while prioritizing their studies. She further urged them to remain grounded, take care of their mental health, and maintain a positive outlook in life.
The AKTK also presented Meritorious Awards to nine students, including seven from HSLC and two from HSSLC examinations.
A special song was presented by Putimenla Longkumer while vote of thanks was pronounced by Limatemsu, Tatong Tir, AKTK.
