Dimapur, November 28 (MExN): The people of Akuhaito celebrated the township’s Platinum Jubilee (1947-2022) on November 27 with area MLA Er Picto Shohe as special guest.
During the celebration, Shohe unveiled the Jubilee monolith at Akuhaito and said that the Jubilee was a new chapter and a blessing for the townspeople. He appealed to the citizens to co-operate for more development, and maintain peace and harmony within the local community while extending greetings to the gathering.
According to a press release received here on Monday, the MLA underlined the developmental activities in Atoizu, and said the payment of land compensation of Khelhoshe Polytechnic Atoizu has been solved and the most awaited Primary Health Centre, Atoizu has also been upgraded to Community Health Centre with the support of the government. Major bridges have also been constructed at Atoizu constituency under Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio's leadership, he added.
He also expressed his gratitude to the pioneers who had donated the land in 1947 for establishing Akuhaito Township.
Earlier, the Jubilee Souvenir was released by Khuheto Awomi, GB Akuhaito and Chairperson of the Coco Joint Council.
Dr Nagaho K Zhimo, Pastor of Rotomi Baptist Church exhorted the gathering and invoked Jubilee blessings upon the gathering while vote of thanks was delivered by Er V Shikato Shohe, Chairperson of the planning board, Akuhaito Platinum Jubilee.
