Akuluto VK area resolves non cooperation against NSCN (K)

DIMAPUR, JUNE 19 (MExN): An emergency general body meeting of the Akuluto VK area public held on June 19 has resolved “to start a process of non cooperation against the NSCN/GPRN (K) and stop all forms of payments, taxes and donations.” The resolution stated that the “NSCN/GPRN (K) cadres of both the armed and civilian wings shall not be allowed to enter or use the territorial jurisdiction of Akuluto- VK area.” It added, “failing to comply with this resolution, the public of both areas shall not be held responsible for any untoward incident that may occur towards the NSCN/GPRN (K) cadres.” 

A press note informed that the meeting was held to reaffirm the June 13 resolution which was passed by the Akuluto- VK Baghi Hoho, with regard to the June 12 incident. It said that the “NSCN/GPRN (K) has failed to respond to our open letter to the NSCN/GPRN (K) published in Nagaland dailies within the stipulated time.” The press note was appended by the President, Akuluto Area GBs Association, Hotovi Chishi; Chairman, GB Association, VK area, Nitoyi Assumi; President, VKRSU, Inaka Assumi; President, STH, VK, Tohoni; President, STH, Akuluto, Ellena and President, Akuluto Range Students Union, Pukhato.

The meeting expressed dismay over the “lackadaisical attitude” of the district administration and police department despite the filing of an FIR. The meeting resolved to approach the state government to immediately initiate steps and arrest the accused within 72 hours from the publication of this resolution. It cautioned that failing to fulfill their appeal would initiate an indefinite bandh within the Akuluto- VK area territorial jurisdiction with effect from the expiry of the deadline. However, it informed that in case of a bandh, essential services like Medical, Para medical, fire service and media would be exempted.
