Alanis Morissette becomes Advice Columnist

Singer Alanis Morissette has signed on to be an Advice Columnist for Britain's Guardian. The Ironic star will answer readers' questions in her weekly column, which will appear in the Guardian Weekend magazine from 16 January (16).

  Alanis insists she is good at giving advice because she grew up listening to other people's problems, adding, "Parents, brothers, even extended family members, that was the role I took on, because I suppose I had this combination of intuition and empathy. I cut my teeth, basically, listening for a living.   "I'm definitely a therapy girl. I think that's quite obvious... I don't want to say everyone should (have therapy), but do I think everyone might benefit from it? Yes. But I'm aware that a lot of people have great resistance to it." The singer, who takes over the role from actress Molly Ringwald, already writes wellbeing tips for her official website.
