A seminar and counseling programme for the Alcoholic Anonymous (AA), Mongsenyimti village was held today at the Mongsenyimti Village Baptist Church with the Ashiponger Foundation, Mokokchung as the Resource Team. The programme was sponsored by the Christian Medical Association of India.


Resource person, Imlisunep spoke on ‘Real Sobriety and spirituality’ while Nungsangmanen gave a presentation on ‘Relapse Prevention Plan’. A separate session for the spouses and family members of the Alcoholics Anonymous Mongsenyimti were also held where various ideas and experiences were shared by the spouses of the members of Ashiponger Foundation.


The Ashiponger foundation is an NGO formed by the recovered Alcoholics based in Mokokchung Town that actively works with recovering alcoholics in Mokokchung District. A total number of 71 persons participated in the programme. 


Earlier during the inaugural session of the programme, Imli Ozukum, Pastor, Mongsenyimti Village Baptist Church welcomed all the participants and the resource team and highlighted the importance of the programme. The benediction was pronounced by Rev Imtimenbang, Pastor, Mongsenyimti Compound Baptist Church, Mokokchung.
