Receipts of Late Sudha Das Meritorious Award for Girl Student with her family & well-wishers, and principal and staff of RGHSS.
Kohima, May 26 (MExN): Ale Apon and Senevelü of Rüzhükhrie Government Higher Secondary School, Kohima on Monday received the Late Sudha Das Meritorious Award for Girl Student for excelling in the recently declared HSLC exam result under Nagaland Board of School Education.
The event was held in presence of Sourav Roy, husband of Late Sudha Das, her cousin and president Nagaland Gorkha Association Nobin Pradhan, Principal of RGHSS CK Bharti and well-wishers.
Gorkha Public Panchayat Kohima, President Santu Thapa and retired government teacher Budha Lama handed over the awards during a brief programme held at the school auditorium on May 26.
The Award which carries cash award of Rs 50,000 and Rs 40,000 with citation was instituted for the top two girl students of RGHSS for excellence in HSLC examination.
Ale Apon scored 88.5% marks to receive the best award while Senevelü got 77.4% and got the second award.
Both the recipients shared their experience of success and also appreciated the family of Late Sudha Das for the award and thanked the teachers of RGHSS in helping them. In his brief address, Sourav Roy, spoke on the objective of the award and also said that the school was chosen as Late BK Das, father of Late Sudha Das, was the former Headmaster of RGHSS.
RGHSS Vice Principal, Sedengunuo Solo also delivered a short speech while Pradhan announced that though the award was initially instituted for a period of three years, however the family has decided to continue it. RGHSS teacher Thenulenuo chaired the programme while teacher Denuvi offered prayer and RGHSS students enthralled the gathering with a special number.
