When the news of the NBSE results was declared on Tuesday afternoon, Limasungla Longkumer, who achieved the top position in the HSSLC Arts Stream with an aggregate of 97.60% marks, was elated with the achievement. She could not have imagined it being made possible without the love and support from her parents, sisters and above all else, God as she states, “It is all thanks to our almighty God,” she said as “I wouldn’t be in this position without him so all glory and thanks go to him.”

Being a native of Tuli Town, in Mokokchung, she is the daughter of S Yangermongba Longkumer, and Sunglimongla Imsong who belong to Merangkong village.

Limasungla told The Morung Express that she finished her high-school from Don Bosco School, Tuli and later on to Christian Higher Secondary School, Dimapur for her higher secondary.

“My study routine was very consistent throughout the year. I had a goal in mind, so in order to achieve that I had to work hard. So I was really determined to give my best for my Class 12 exams,” she said as among her key ingredient towards successfully clearing the board exams in flying colours.

She mentioned that her biggest supports came from her “incredible teachers at school, as they motivated and pushed me to give my best so I’m really thankful to my school and my lovely teachers.”

As for her future prospects, Limasungla disclosed that she plans to study Theology at Trinity Theological College. “I haven’t decided on anything in particular but in my heart I want to work among the youths,” she said. She based this decision through wanting to be a missionary when she was a child and later on encountering Christ during her teenage years. “It rekindled that burning desire within me to serve Him,” she added.

On an end note, she shared one of her cherished Bible verses, Matthew 6:33, “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.”
