All govt offices to maintain files movement sheet

Kohima, March 6 (DIPR): Nagaland Government has introduced an innovative idea to improve the system of recording the file movement in all Government offices. Principal Secretary, P&AR, CJ Ponraj, in an office memorandum, said the file movement sheet shall be henceforth attached in the inner of front files cover of every file.

The format of the file movement sheet which was circulated to all the Departments stipulates that whenever the file is received, the assistant or officer shall record the time and date of receipt/dispatch in the file movement sheet.

Further, the controlling officers can use the sheet for identifying delays and remedial corrective action. It further said whenever the file is received by the dealing assistant or officer they shall be obliged to put their names, designations and signatures. The Principal Secretary has instructed all government offices to maintain the file movement sheet in all files.
