All Nagaland badminton championship concludes

Morung Express News Kohima | April 22   Under the theme "Step up the challenge", the all Nagaland men’s doubles open and veteran badminton championship organized by Crescent club Kohima under the aegis of Nagaland Badminton Association concluded on April 22 with DIG (Modernization & HQ) Imlisunep IPS gracing the closing ceremony as the chief guest at the Indoor badminton stadium, Officers’ Hill, Kohima.   Raju and Joseph won the championship in the open category and walked away with cash prize of Rs. 40,000 along with certificates while the runners-up Moatemjen and Pulie received Rs. 20,000.   In the 30+ category, Bendangnochet and Sendongyanger emerged as the champions while Aomulung and Raju came second.   Aomulung and Bendangnochet won the 40+ category, and Sashiwapang and Imosanen emerged as runners up. In 50+ category I. Temjen and N. Wati won the championship while Arep and Y. Sema bagged the runners-up title.   Winners and runners up of the 30+, 40+, and 50+ categories each received Rs. 20,000 and Rs. 10,000 respectively along with certificates. The semi-finalists were also awarded cash prize of Rs. 10,000 each.
