All Nagaland Catechists Convention held

Dimapur, January 30 (MExN): All Nagaland Catechists Convention 2016 was held at Don Bosco Institute for Development And Leadership (DBIDL), Dimapur from January 27 to 30 under the theme “Blessed are the Merciful”.   According to a press release received here, the programme started by lighting the lamp by Rev. Fr PJ Thomas, Parish Priest of Holy Cross Parish, Dimapur, Rev. Fr Jaison Thomas, the Director of Pastoral Center, Kohima Diocese and three Touring Catechists.   Fr Thomas exhorted the gathering saying, “We need to know the teaching of the Church, the tradition of the Church along with all our Catholic practices as we go to the people at grass root level to strengthen our faith and the faith of the people.”

  Fr Chacko, the rector of the Good Shepherd Seminary, Dimapur concelebrated the Eucharistic Celebration on January 28 and enlightened the gathering on “Being light of the World”.   Rt Rev James Thoppil, the Bishop of Kohima celebrated the concluding Mass and encouraged the Catechists to become agents of sowing good seed which will yield good fruit in abundance. “Good seed, good ideas, good thoughts promote life, peace, goodness,” he exhorted.   Sr Rose Tsiitso MHMSC conducted the Adoration to the Blessed Sacrament and Sr Rosin Noronha UFC led the meditation as they invited the catechists to pray for peace in Nagaland by being more merciful, compassionate and generous in day to day lives and bring about change in the society.
