Kekhrie Krotho in collaboration with Task Force for Music & Arts (TaFMA) Nagaland, organised the3rd edition of All Nagaland Open Folksong and Folkfusion Competition 2024 at Khuzama in Kohima district on November 23 last.

The competition, held under the theme “Igniting the past,” featured three categories- Group Folkfusion, Group Folksong and Solo Folkfusion.

In Group folkfusion category, Elate Fusion emerged as the winner and Nagaland University Students Union Kohima Campus, Meriema as runner up and awarded with Rs 30,000 and Rs 20,000 respectively.

In Group Folksong category, Vepasa Venuh & party bagged the first position and awarded with Rs 30,000.

Lüshekhro stood runner-up title and received Rs 20, 000.

In Solo Folkfusion category, Limrimong T Tikhir bagged the first position and awarded with a cash prize of Rs 15,000. Runner- up Avieno Nakhro has been awarded with a cash prize of Rs 8000.

Altogether, 26 groups from different parts of the state joined the event.

Earlier, TaFMA project director Dr Hovithal Sothu graced the event as the special guest.

“One one must strive to be the best in the field they wish to prosper in, Dr Sothu said.

He also conveyed his appreciation and gratitude to Khuzama villagers for their unwavering effort in making the village a tourist attraction place.

Azi Nienu, Obed Kath and Jano Nyekha assisted the event as judges.

Thejase-e Nagi host the event while welcome address was delivered by Nunese Sale, chief event manager.
