DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 6 (MExN): The 5th All Sumi Badminton Championship, hosted by Dimapur District Sumi Badminton Association (DDSBA), concluded on Thursday evening at DDBA indoor Badminton stadium.
H. Khehovi Sumi, proprietor, Renomme Coir & Kivifoam Industries, Nagaland graced the closing ceremony as guest of honour and gave away the prize to the winners. Speaking on the occasion, guest of honour maintained that sports play an integral part in the transformation of the society both economically and socially. It helps in fostering and upholding brotherhood and peace, he added.
Lauding the effort of Dimapur District Sumi Badminton Association for successful conduct of the competition, Khehovi said there are lots of talented youngsters who could excel in higher level of competition if proper guidance and support is given to them. He therefore urged the association to strive to mould the youngsters.
Generally speaking on the abilities of every individual, he said God has blessed each and everyone with different abilities which one must make proper use of it for betterment of mankind.
He also encouraged upon the people to have far sighted vision in choosing a leader who would sincerely lead the people even at difficult times.
Khehovi who is an intending candidate of 33 Suruhoto-Asuto assembly constituency donated a sum of Rs. One lakh towards DDSBA.
