Alokithe H Kiho conferred 3rd Lt Rev Ivulho Shohe Meritorious Award

Alokithe H Kiho from Greenwood Higher Secondary School, Dimapur was conferred the 3rd Lt Rev Ivulho Shohe Meritorious Award for Academic Excellence.

Dimapur, May 27 (MExN): Alokithe H Kiho from Greenwood Higher Secondary School, Dimapur was conferred the 3rd Lt Rev Ivulho Shohe Meritorious Award for Academic Excellence. 

Initiated and sponsored by Ashouh Loji Aphuyemi, the certificate is being awarded to the highest aggregate (top 20) among Sumi Aphuyemi community in HSLC Exam. The award carry cash prize of Rs 10,000 and certificate. 

The award ceremony was held at the private residence of topper at Chekiye village, Dimapur attended by Ashouh Loji members, Lt Ivulho Shohe's family members and toppers family members. Alokithe H Kiho is the son of Heshika Kiho and Litoli Kiho of M Tsugho village, stated a press release received here. 

‘Lt Rev Ivulho Shohe of Ghokimi village was a second convert among the Sumi community. He was the first person to translate the Gospel Mark into Sumi and also translated 100 hymnals into Sumi which played a vital role in the lives of early converts. Because if his commendable job, he is recognized as the first literate among Sumi community,’ the release stated.

At the felicitation ceremony, Ngukato K Tsuipu, convenor, Ashouh Loji highlighted about the award. Shikato Shohe, former President SAKD spoke on behalf of Lt Rev Ivulho Shohe’s family while Vishito Kiho and Heshika Kiho father of topper spoke on behalf of topper’s family.
