Kohima, July 3 (MExN): The Alpine Open Scout & Guide Unit, Kohima conducted its Annual Training Camp from June 26–29 at St. Edmund School, Kigwema with 55 Scouts & Guides, Scout Master & Guide Captains, resource person and Senior Scouts & Guides.
Conducted under the leadership of Imlisunep, Scout Master of Alpine Open Scout & Guide Unit, Om Prakash Gupta, District Training Commissioner (Scout) of Kohima district was the resource person at the camp.
The Scouts and Guides were mainly trained on the practical skills like Rope Work, First Aid, Pioneering Project, Different Types of Fire, Camp Craft, Estimation, Signalling, Camp Gadgets, Wide Games etc, according to a press release from Imlisunep, Administrator, Alpine Open S/G Unit, Kohima. The campers also experienced a taste of Commando Bridge and Monkey Bridge built by the Senior Scouts of the Unit, it added.
John Tochimong, State Organising Commissioner (Scout) NSBSG, graced the grand campfire as the Campfire Chief and exhorted the campers. District Organising Commissioner (Scout) of Kohima district, Scouters & Guiders & well wishers also visited the camp.
The Unit Administrator has thanked all who extended support towards the camp.
