KIGWEMA, JUNE 26 (MExN): The seven-day Alpine Open Scouts and Guides unit annual camping 2022 got underway at St Edmund's School Kigwema, some few kilometers away  from Kohima city, on June 22. A total of 50 campers are attending the camp, which culminates on June 28. 

A press release informed that in the inaugural speech today, special guest of the camp and Principal of Holy Family Higher Secondary School Kohima, Ashikho termed scouts and guides as the agent of peace.

Scouting is for around development, he said and urged the campers to be serious and responsible in attending the camp.

While admiring the work done by Samuel Mezhür Sekhose who was a Silver Elephant Awardee of Bharat Scouts and Guides, the principal also brief the campers about scouting movement in India and Nagaland.

Earlier, Assistant State Training Commissioner (Scouts), Kekhrieselhou Theünuo delivered welcome address while introduction and about the camp was done by Administrator of the Unit and Assistant State Organizing Commissioner (Scouts) Imlisunep Imchen.

The speech on behalf of the State Headquarter of Bharat Scouts and Guides was delivered by State Organizing Commissioner (Guide), Vimezhonu while vote of thanks was delivered by Assistant Leader Trainer (Scout) Om Prakash Gupta.

The resource persons of the seven-day session are Kekhrieselhou Theünuo ASTC(S), ALT(S) Om Prakash Gupta, Inato Sema,DOC(S) Kiphire,Tsipise Antony ASO(S) Kiphire and Vimezhonu Tetso SOC(G).
