Ambassador of France to India visits Nagaland

Dimapur, May 3 (MExN): Jerome Bonnafont, the Ambassador of France to India was in Nagaland from April 17 to 25, 2011. After visiting Kohima and Mokokchung districts, his last leg to Nagaland was Mon district. Upon his arrival at Mon district on April 22, he was received by the SDO (civil) HQ Hiazu Meru. The Ambassador visited Shangnyu, Longwa and Tangyu villages along with SDO (civil) Shingwang, SDO (civil) Oren, Tourist Officer Orenponi Tungoe.
In all the villages he was given a warm traditional welcome with cultural programme. He interacted with the village Anghs and elders and also experienced Naga Konyak lunch. He said that the Konyak people needed development and all this could come only through good schools, hospitals and good roads. In the evening, he met the Deputy Commissioner Mon, Dinesh Kumar. He left Mon on April 24 to take a flight from Dibrugarh to Delhi.
