AMC Zunheboto to improve marketing infrastructure

Zunheboto, August 20 (MExN): ATMA Management Committee (AMC) and District Farmers Advisory Committee (DFAC) held a meeting at the office of the Project Director, ATMA & DSCO, Zunheboto on August 13.  

Shanavas C, Chairman, ATMA, Governing Board & District Commissioner, Zunheboto remarked that the administration is giving full support and cooperation to organize various awareness programs to benefit the public, Er Hitokali, ATM, Zunheboto informed in a press release. He also assured to provide necessary aid towards innovative start-ups.  

Ajit Ranjan, SDO (C) encouraged on continuing AMC meetings in a timely manner for convergence between agriculture and allied departments.  

Kuhozhe, Member, DFAC and progressive farmer of Tokiye block lamented the use of harmful fertilizers and chemicals and its adverse effect on environment.  

The AMC members agreed on improving marketing infrastructure through construction of marketing sheds and revamping Agricultural Product Marketing Committee (APMC), the release said. The members also encouraged the cultivation of cardamom, banana, kiwi and advised to focus on introduction of coffee cultivation in large scale.  

Hekuto, District Evaluation Officer, Zunheboto later announced that a case study on ATMA, Zunheboto activities and its impact is being undertaken.  

22 ATMA staffs and 17 AMC and DFAC members attended the meeting.  

The program was chaired by K Khekiho Shohe, PD ATMA & DSCO, member secretary. Keynote address was delivered by Avitoli K Yeptho, Dy. PD ATMA, along with a PowerPoint presentation on the functions and activities of ATMA Zunheboto. Block wise PowerPoint presentation by the respective ATMA staffs of each 8 blocks was also presented.
