All villages have road connectivity, mobile phone service

Peren district has four blocks with 85 villages. All villages in this district have road connectivity and mobile phone service as on 31st January 2020.

The village with access to maximum basic amenities in Peren district is Gaili village under Jalukie block with 23 basic amenities.

About 99% of its villages have electricity, fair price shop and water supply (PHED). The exceptions are Songsang village under Athibung Block, the only village in this district without electricity; Deukoram village under Peren Block, the only village without Fair Price Shop; and Gaili Namdi village under Peren Block, the only village without Water Supply (PHED), according to the survey report on Local/Block Level Statistics for Local Level Planning 2020, published by Directorate of Economics & Statistics, Nagaland.

The Survey on Local/Block Level Statistics for Local Level Planning is conducted under the Support for Statistical Strengthening scheme during 2019-2020 emphasized on the major basic amenities available covering all the recognized villages of the rural development department.

The report stated that 4.25% of the state’s government bus is availed by the villages, while 10.7% of the state’s private bus ply in the district. Also, about 62% of its villages are accessible to taxi service in Peren district.

Landline phone service is available to 2.3% of the villages in this district while 42.3% of villages are covered under postal service.

The share of the state’s Government Primary School in Peren district stands at 7.3%, Government Middle School at about 6%, Government High School at 7% and Higher Secondary School at 6.2%.

On average, 7.7% of the state’s private educational institutes are located in the villages under Peren district.

Sub centre facility is available to 35.2% of the villages in the district, 7% of the villages have Primary Health Centre facility while there is one Community Health Centre and one private clinic/hospital in the villages, accounting to around 1% of the villages in Peren district.

7% of its villages have Veterinary Health Centre.

The facility of village library is accessed by 4.7% of the villages in the district, 89.4% have Village Council hall and about 81% of villages have playground.

About 17% of the state’s indoor stadium is located in Peren district and 31.7% of its villages have marketing shed.

Anganwadi centre is operational to 96.4% of the villages in this district while 83.5% have the facility of public toilet.

About 1% of the villages in the district have bank, while there is no ATM facility in the district as per the survey.

3.5% of villages in the district have Police Station and about 1% have Police Beat Post.

There are about 13% of villages with Common Service Centre, while 96.4% have Self Help Group and 30.5% of the villages have street light.
