Medziphema, April 2 (MExN): The 7th Frolic Cup 2022 finals witnessed the clash of the defending champion Amigo's FC taking on the first champion of Frolic Cup 2009, Kuki Youth Club Medziphema. The match witnessed fight for midfield control and counter attack. KYCM took the lead in the 26 minute through the boot of Lamsanggin.
In the second half, the Amigo's came back with a power kick from Kekhrie in the 8 minute. The lead was extended with Nyithong fine finishes in the 70 and 80 minute. The KYCM came back to narrow the gap in 81st minute with a solo run from Kakhevi. The match was sealed when Sinlo of Amigos rattled the net of the KYCM in the 85 minute.
Asito Krose and Letkhokai of Amigo's were cautioned for unfair challenge. The final score was Amigo's FC-4 and Kuki Youth Club Medziphema-2.
Earlier, in closing programme, guest of honour Shiyeto Wotsa, General Secretary, BJYM, shared his experience as footballer in our State. The guest of honor also sponsored the individual prizes in memory of his father in law, LT Yehmi Zhimo. Metsilhoukho Kuotsu, Chairman, VC Medziphema graced the finals as the Chief Patron.
