ANACA questions CM silence on NTPRADAO’s allegations

Kohima, July 4 (MExN): The All Nagaland Anti-Corruption Association (ANACA) today wondered why the State Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio is taking time in constitute a 'Special Investigating Team (SIT) to look into “alleged 74 crore plus misappropriation/embezzlement” under the Pradhan Mantri Adarsh Gramin Yojana (PMAY-G) and disrespecting public sentiments.

The newly-formed organisation stated this in a media release extending its full support to the Nagaland Transparency, Public Rights Advocacy and Direct Action Organisation (NTPRADAO), another new entity which levelled the initial allegations.

‘It is high time Chief Minister understand the gravity of the issue since it is in public domain for nearly a for nearly a month,” the ANACA said, further asking him to refrain from allegedly defending the Minister as well as  some past and present official of the State Rural Development Department.

It is unfortunate that despite his vast administrative experience, the Chief Minister is turning a ‘blind eye’ on the matter regarding the RD scam, it maintained.

It is well within the powers of the Chief Minister Rio to hand out “an exemplary, action against the erring officials, it noted, adding that the Naga general public are all watching anxiously and with great curiosity for him to take “right appropriate action.” It must be noted that the Directorate of Rural Development, Nagaland June 15 clarified to the allegation of ‘fraud and financial embezzlement’ by NTPRADAO by denying any anomalies and termed it “poorly researched.”
