Teachers to hold general meeting to decide next move

A meeting between the All Nagaland Adhoc Teachers’ Group (ANATG) 2015 batch and Nagaland’s Advisor for School Education & SCERT, Dr Kekhrielhoulie Yhome, on February 17, to discuss the long-pending demand for service regularisation ended without any conclusive outcome.

The meeting was convened to address the grievances of adhoc teachers appointed in 2015 who have been seeking regularisation of their services.

According to the ANATG Media Cell, the teachers have strongly reiterated their demand for a clear and definite time frame for service regularisation. They also urged that their members be considered separately from other categories of adhoc and contractual employees in the regularisation process.

In response, the Advisor reportedly expressed his inability to commit to a specific time frame, stating that the “regularisation is already under process.”

In light of today's developments, the aggrieved teachers have decided to hold off their proposed sit-in protest scheduled for tomorrow.

Instead, the ANATG will hold a general meeting at Naga Solidarity Park, Kohima where members will collectively deliberate and decide on the future course of action, it was informed.
