Kohima, June 15 (MExN): The All Nagaland Co-operative Societies Federation (ANCSF) held its executive meeting on June 8, 2011 and discussed the issues pertaining to Integrated Cooperative Developmental Project (ICDP) at Dimapur/Mon and Zunheboto districts sanctioned by the state government to registered cooperative societies for each concerned district.
The members discussed the matter thoroughly and viewed seriously the process of sanction especially the first phase is not proper as per the guidelines of ICDP implementation of the project. In this, the members registered its regret and to request the authority to do justice to the rural cooperatives societies in the coming phases. “Since the amount sanctioned is less and cannot implement the project with the mere amount. Therefore the members reminds the authority to do as per the guidelines as and when sanction,” the Federation said.
The Federation also suggested three points to be initiated as per the guidelines of ICDP scheme: (a) the amount sanctioned may be as per the project proposal submitted by the different cooperatives societies with different project (b) the project cost should not be in one ceiling of amount since the project are different with a view to proper implementation and (c) out of the sanction amount should be clear cut and also may be known to the cooperative societies.
The Federation further discussed National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC) which it said is kept pending since long. The Federation stated that the 2nd phase sanctioned to cooperative societies should release to 171 societies at an early date and at the same time the 3rd phase also selected by the State Level Selection Committee (SLSC) be published at an early date.
In the meantime, the Federation appreciated the state government and sanctioning huge amount to different cooperative societies so as to develop the rural cooperative societies in the state. Further, it also urged the authority to do the needful at the earliest for the welfare of the rural areas. This was stated in a release issued by the Federation president R.K. Mekro.
