ANCSU announces indefinite digital protest against govt

Dimapur, October 6 (MExN): After its demand of setting up an Enquiry Commission to probe the utilisation of funds at Khelhoshe Polytechnic Atoizu (KPA), Zunheboto went ‘unheeded’, the All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU) has announced an ‘indefinite digital protest’ against the State government from October 12.

While expressing its resentment, the Union also said that it does not wish to sabotage the betterment of the state as it is rebuilding its economy and health care from the global pandemic.

Therefore, as part of the Union’s first phase of agitation, the ANCSU said that its protest would be digital.

During this protest, indefinite e-mails would be sent to the email account of the government functionaries, indefinite calls would be made to the government functionaries, and online poster campaign etc. would be carried out, the Union informed.

All e-mails and calls would be made requesting the State government to hear the genuine demand of the union.

The Union in its letter to the state Chief Secretary on August 31 earlier this year had demanded for setting up of an Enquiry Commission to probe into the fund utilization of Rs3,71,60,000 for KPA under AICTE-NEQIP scheme within 30 days.

“However, till date, the state government has remained passive over the demand of the union,” it stated.

Expressing its discontentment at the ‘passive attitude’ of the government, the Union said that it would not remain silent, and informed all its units and well wishers to be prepared to participate in the proposed protest.
